Michelle Novakovich, Au.D.
Doctor of Audiology, Owner
High Point & Kernersville
Michelle Novakovich has been practicing audiology since 1999. She received both her Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in audiology from the University of North Carolina – Greensboro, graduating summa cum laude.
She obtained her Doctorate of Audiology from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry – School of Audiology. She is an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of hearing loss through the use of amplification technologies. She is committed to establishing a lasting relationship with her patients. Michelle also provides services for industrial hearing conservation programs as well as for the military. She is a certified course director for the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC).
Michelle has two boys Nick and Alex. Nick works part-time for the office while he is not attending college. Michelle is passionate about the ministry (La Luz de Cristo) she works with that has a medical clinic in Empalme de Boaco, Nicaragua. She has been traveling to this clinic since 2012 with her colleague Dr. Melissa Palmer, providing hearing services to the Nicaraguan people.
Karen Sikes, Au.D.

Karen Sikes is a native of North Carolina and grew up in the foothills region. She attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she earned her undergraduate and Master’s degrees.
She began her audiology career working in private practice. She had the opportunity to work in various settings such as school systems, military hospitals, a specialized center for developmentally delayed individuals, and an adjunct professor of a local university. In 2005 she earned her Doctorate of Audiology degree from Salus University. Upon her return to North Carolina she was the Director of Audiology in an Ear, Nose and Throat practice for 7 years. As a member of the staff of High Point Audiological she enjoys serving patients at the High Point office. In addition to her Doctorate degree she holds a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech and Hearing Association and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology- at both the state and national level.
She has two children, Emma and Yates and spends most of her spare time attending tennis matches, baseball games and recitals.
Dana Koch, Au.D.

Dana Koch is originally from Greensboro, received her B.S. from North Carolina State University, and earned her Doctorate of Audiology degree from James Madison University in 2007.
She has worked in private practice settings as well as in several Ear, Nose, and Throat offices in the triad and in Virginia Beach. She has a strong interest in hearing aids, enjoys learning about new hearing aid technology, and, in turn, educating patients so that they can make well-informed decisions for their hearing care.
She and her husband, James, are the very proud parents of two daughters, Madeleine and Caitlyn. She enjoys traveling, playing tennis, and doing outdoor activities with her daughters.
Jessica Hepfner, HIS

Jessica Hepfner has been with our office since 2014. She grew up in Lexington, North Carolina, and then attended school at Gardner-Webb University in Shelby, North Carolina.
Jessica is the proud mother of 2, Chloe and Ryan, and wife to Aaron. During Jessica’s free time she enjoys mother-daughter outings with her daughter, outdoor play with her son, and binge watching her favorite shows with her husband.
Jessica has worked in all aspects of our office. She started out as a receptionist answering phones and working at the front desk, and then went to help open our Clayton office. She has been the office manager and Audiology Assistant, and has now passed the North Carolina Hearing Aid Dealers and Fitter’s exam and is licensed in North Carolina to fit and dispense hearing aids. Although you may still find her answering phones and doing administrative tasks, you will most likely find her seeing patients and working with them.
Debi Everett

Debi Everett started with HPA in April 2010 as the Office Administrator. Her main goals and ambitions at HPA are to provide exceptional customer service to all patients through informative dialogue and warm understanding of their hearing concerns, while also understanding each patient’s financial situations.
Originally from Northern VA, Debi relocated to the Triad over 22 years ago with her husband, Doug. Prior to HPA, Debi taught pre-school in Kernersville for 7 years, while having three wonderful and successful children – Morgan, Chad, and Chase. All of which are very involved in school, sports, church, and club organizations. Morgan attends University of Louisville, and plays for the women’s soccer team, and both Chad and Chase attend East Forsyth High School, and play for the men’s soccer team, Chad is also on the golf team, all three with academic honors. You will find Debi in our new Kernersville office located at 1708 NC Hwy 66 South, Kernersville, NC.
Kyndall Collins

Kyndall Collins is the newest and youngest member of the High Point Audiological staff. She grew up in Kernersville, NC and is a 2017 graduate of Glenn High School.
Emily Gillis
Office Manager

Emily Gillis was born and raised in Northern Pennsylvania, and moved to North Carolina when she was 19. She currently lives in Carthage, NC with her family: Tirrel, Dominic, and Carter.
Melissa Howie
Insurance Manager
High Point
Melissa Howie grew up locally in Thomasville, NC. Following high school she began her career as a Hospital Corpsman in the US Navy.
After serving five years in the military, providing medical care to active duty service men & women, she returned to North Carolina to obtain her Bachelor of Arts degree in human relations, from High Point University. As part of the High Point Audiological family, Melissa strives to offer quality customer service to our patients, while performing various administrative duties in the office. She is a certified hearing conservation technician, and provides hearing screenings for both industrial clients and military personnel as needed.
Melissa enjoys spending her free time with her husband Billy, and three children, Christian, Grey & Aubrie.
